Not sure why the company still wanna give out an extra sum in such situation. AWS isn't a legal obligation and the company really didn't have to do this when we should be saving up our cash reserves instead of squandering it.
Of course, as an employee, such extra money is more than welcomed. It has certainly made me very happy, especially when i wasn't expecting it at all. However, from the company's perspective, this payout might be biting out a chunk of our reserves, which could have gone to debt repayment or other necessary expenditures.
But then, the decision was made by our dear management with the advice from our dear consultants. They would know what's best for the company. Who am i to question such decision, and why should i? I should just enjoy the money. That's all what i should and will do.
