My boss was away last week for the senior management off-site meeting and returned to office only on Friday. We expected him to be in a foul mood when he returned because of the delay of system live date. Uh huh, it was almost confirmed that we wouldn't be able to meet the February target anymore. It would be postponed to May, but the exact date has yet to be decided.
Surprisingly, my boss seemed to have expected this result even before he returned. He must have been following our emails closely during he absence and saw that there weren't much progress. So we all felt relief that the bad news didn't affect his mood on his first day in the new office.
Then came the good news to all of us. We would be given a token of appreciation in this month payroll for our effort in the launch of the new store. I was very happy of course, but was rather embarrassed that i received SGD500 even though i didn't contribute much except helping out on the opening day. Hope my colleagues who had done so much more wouldn't have any resentment over me receiving the reward.
Anyway, the money came just in time because i kinda overspent during my KL trip. With this extra cash, i can now plan for what to buy for CNY. Yay!
