So what else is new?

Flip-flopping again huh? That's what our government does best.

Allow me to try recalling the flow of event. Do correct me if i'm wrong.

First, they said foreign vehicles coming into Malaysia will have to pay for an entrance fee because these cars come to our country for cheap petrol that's subsidized by the government for the citizens.

(Oh, yes, these cars include ours, people who work in Singapore and drive a Singapore registered car. Oh, yes, i am a citizen of Malaysia. But no, i don't have to pay any income tax in Malaysia even though i file for my income every year. It's the taxation policy of the country, so don't blame me for that.)

Then, a minister or someone said the entrance fee was confirmed at RM20, followed by another person saying it wasn't confirmed yet.

Afterwards, there was news about this entrance fee being cancelled. But later on, we saw card readers installed at each booth at the custom checkpoint. That was even before anything concrete was announced. No one knew if the fee was indeed RM20, or how the card should be purchased, or when it was gonna start. Uh huh, no one knew anything, well, at least not the general public. I'm sure someone in the government knew something, but of course, as usual, the general public didn't know a thing. Our government just loves to keep us in suspense. Aren't they so nice in making our lives so full of excitement?!

The card readers were there for months already and everyone was just waiting for the announcement. Oh yes, the announcement did finally come, but only to inform everyone that we are NOT gonna charge the entrance fee anymore. So foreign vehicles taking advantage of the government-subsidized petrol isn't an issue anymore huh? So what are the card readers gonna be used for now? So did anyone pocket any money in the process of installing the white elephant?

Oh well, if we can scrap an on-going project of building a bridge, i guess a few card readers don't mean a thing to anyone, as long as someone has benefited along the way.

So, anything else is new?

OK. So what's new?
knowing that u din read JB newspaper, there is something u need to know.
If u happen to see a board "tolak kiri jika tak ada kenderaan"(means u can turn left if no vehicles coming) on traffic light post. Pls don't follow.
Lots of people "kena tipu" by this. According to our dear police dept/ traffic dept, this is install by MPJBT/MPJB without their approval, & not accepted by them. So if u follow this instruction, u'll still get "summon", understand?
This is how our dear public servant work lor! :p

Oh ya, i think i saw this in the newspaper. I guess our government just gets more and more creative with making our lives exciting...
